I'll dominate 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
